AA Gill, Clouds House alumni
Located in the heart of rural Wiltshire, Clouds House is a Grade II* listed building in the beautiful village of East Knoyle.
Designed by architect Philip Webb, Clouds House has provided life-changing treatment for addiction since 1983. The house is private and secluded and the stunning scenery creates the perfect setting for anyone embarking on their recovery from addiction. Over the years, we've helped thousands of people lead a healthy and rewarding life, but as former Clouds House resident, A.A Gill would atest, our purpose is not to pamper, it is to save lives.
There is strong evidence that peer-to-peer support makes recovery more likely and more secure. Bedrooms are shared so that experieince, hope and solidarity can be shared. All our meals are freshly prepared on the premises by our excellent team of chefs and kitchen staff who lovingly prepare menus to suit all dietary requirements. Good food and communal meal times bring people together and are an integral part of our treatment philosophy.
Clouds House is registered by the Care Quality Commission to treat up to 38 people at any one time, and has segregated male and female bedroom accommodation. As well as large communal living areas, we have dedicated spaces for group therapy, individual counselling, relaxation and mindfulness sessions, as well as yoga, art therapy and creative writing, as well as a women-only lounge.
